When There's Nothing to Say:
Being a Companion through Grief Grieving is a part of
every human life. What is grief, and how can we help our loved
ones who have experienced loss?

The Religion of Jesus
In recent years I have taken and interest in various schools of
Buddhism, liked the ideas of the Sufis, tried to get a grip on
the mystique of Islam. I have explored the stories of all faiths
and been inspired to reverence their beliefs. Some of this
exploration has made me look at our UU stories. And then I have
turned to take a fresh look at Jesus, the man for others.

We often feel that social change has to
be serious business. Yet by supporting everyone's right to play,

Spirits at Blanton Woods? A Wild

A recent experience at Danville's Blanton Woods has me thinking
about the ways in which nature, specifically animals, offer us
lessons on life. |

UUCC Sunday Service
UUCC holds services every Sunday from 10:00 - 11:00 There is a social gathering after the service where coffee and tea are available. Children participate in the first part of the adult service and adjourn to religious education classes. Nursery care is available. For directions to our facilities at 95 N Jefferson St. in Danville, click on the Directions.
Unitarian Universalist Service
Our service typically includes congregational singing, inspirational readings, a time for silent meditation, a diverse selection of music and a sermon. The sermons, readings and music at UUCC draw inspiration from many sources and cultures. The words used in a guided meditation may sound like prayer but they are usually not addressed to, or request the support of a supernatural deity. Time is also allowed for the sharing of "Joys and Concerns". People attending the service may voluntarily share with the congregation births, deaths, particular struggles, and changes in relationships. Members of the congregation participate with the minister and/or guest speaker in planning and leading services.
